Darsh Patel is a Specialist Orthodontist and a Director of SmartDontics, a specialist orthodontic practice in Surbiton, Surrey.
Darsh’s passion is to work smarter and not harder. With the use of technology and workflows, his aim is to provide a service level that is five-star with an emphasis on reducing clinical and travel time for the orthodontist and patient respectively.
Darsh graduated in 1998 from Manchester University. He moved to Birmingham to study his specialist membership in orthodontics (Morth) before heading home to London to set up a private “squat” orthodontic practice in 2009.
He has been a recipient of multiple awards both clinical and business throughout his career.
Darsh has a passion for teaching and education and regularly lectures in the field of orthodontics both nationally and internationally. He is a member of many KOL groups and regularly shares his experience and expertise with other like-minded orthodontists.
Darsh’s extensive knowledge and skills enable him to treat and rectify even the most severe and demanding orthodontic problems where he can individually design each treatment plan to create that unique smile.
With the advent of remote monitoring and AI technology, Darsh has seen a paradigm shift of what orthodontic care will look like in the future.

I was fascinated by the mechanisms and possibilities of tooth movement during my time training as a dentist, and this led me to specialise in orthodontics at the Royal College Of Surgeons England.
Twelve years after first starting dental school and completing my Masters training, I graduated as a Specialist Orthodontist and I have never regretted any of the years of learning I have done. So much so, I am still passionate about continuing to learn and develop new techniques.
