When should my child visitan orthodontist?
It is recommended that all children in the UK have their first orthodontic assessment by the age of seven or eight. At this age, your child’s adult teeth will have grown in enough for us to detect potential orthodontic issues, and their jaws are still growing, which makes for easier treatment.
Your child may not need treatment at this age, but we can monitor the growth of their smile and intervene at the opportune time. This early treatment could save you a lot of time and money by reducing the need for complex orthodontic treatment in your child’s teenage years.
